Aggie UX v1.7.0 now available
This release includes multiple color updates and introduces new components.
In addition to minor CSS and JS updates for existing components, many new components were introduced. No immediate action is needed.
Color Updates: In order to better align with the newly updated Texas A&M brand guide colors, we have removed all instances of gold that are used purely for decorative purposes. However, we are retaining the use of gold on some interactive components (including buttons on dark and tags) in order to help differentiate them from static content. Gold is also going to be the focus indicator color moving forward when tabbed into a page because of its contrast on both light and dark backgrounds.
We introduced the following components:
- Video Embed: A video embed is a standalone, media-centric component that features an embedded video with a heading and description, and optional share icons, CTA, and embeddable transcript.
- Sign-Up Feature: A sign-up feature is a large media-centric component used to collect emails. This component has a title, a brief description, an email input, and a prominent background image.
- Button Slab: A button slab features a collection of 2 to 5 buttons with an overarching heading and optional description and icon. The buttons can either be all the same or have alternate styles for emphasis.
- Search Block: A search block is a standalone component that prominently displays a search bar with an optional link slab.
The following updates were implemented:
- Collection features now support the use of social media icons and links
- Any Texas A&M logos in components (most notably footers and site headers) were updated to pull from our CDN; we recommend doing the same
- Feature CTA has been renamed to CTA Feature to better align with our component nomenclature; markup changed as well, but no action is needed. We recommend using the updated markup for future instances.
- Accordion groups now offer a “slim” version
aux-accordion.jshad minor updates to loading; no action needed.- Various CSS updates
