Because readers lose interest quickly online, put the most important information highest on the page.

Your content order should clearly reflect:

  • Your highest priorities OR
  • What you think will be most important to your site visitors

For pages that have a lot of detailed content or supporting information, place that information lower on the page. If the information higher on the page is promising, readers will continue down the page and find this supporting information.
