Page Descriptions

For improved search engine optimization (SEO), enter a unique page description for every page on your site. This is especially important for your home page and any major landing pages.

For each page, provide a concise summary of said page, written for your target audience. This will be displayed on search engine result pages under the title. Length should be 150-160 characters.

Social Share Image

You can set a unique social share image on a page-by-page basis by uploading an image to the page thumbnail in the page’s metadata section.

Default Social Share Image

By default, when people share your website on various platforms such as search engines, Facebook, X, and Slack, the default social share image will display as a preview of your site.

The default social share image is:

You can override the default social share image on a page-by-page basis by setting the page thumbnail in the page’s metadata section.

How to Change Your Site’s Default Social Share Image

  1. Open the _files > _images > default-images > social.jpg asset in the preview pane
  2. Click Edit
  3. Update the description of the new social image you are about to upload; this will be that image’s alt text
  4. Upload your new image file by dragging and dropping it into the file selection area or clicking choose to find the file on your computer.
  5. Click Preview Draft
  6. Click Submit
  7. Enter version comments that will be saved in the asset’s version history.
  8. Click Submit

NOTE: Do NOT rename the default social share image. If you rename this image, it will no longer automatically be used as the default social share image.
