An alert is a component that displays a supplementary piece of information, often in the form of validation messages (success, warning, and error) or help text (info). Alerts may also display time sensitive information.

Alerts can be used as part of page content (inline alerts) that provide contextual information or as banner alerts that display beneath the navigation across your site or sections of your site. Both of these layout options have the ability to add CTAs and come in four styles:

  • Info
  • Success
  • Warning
  • Error

Ways to Use Alerts

Use an alert to notify users of system statuses and for validation messages (success, warning and error). Alerts can either be added inline to content or as a banner before page content, both having the option to showcase CTAs.

Alerts can also be used to provide help text (info) for processes, deadlines, and more.
