Configure Options for Assets

Learn how to prevent a page or asset from being published or indexed on your site.

About Publishing Options

Publishing can be enabled or disabled at the page or folder level. Importantly, there are two settings that must be changed:

  • Include when publishing: When checked, this asset can be published on its own or when a folder it is nested within is published.
  • Include when indexing: When checked, pages can appear in sidebar menus and on your sitemap when also set to be published. In most cases, you will want this option enabled.

Publishing Settings for Pages

You can enable/disable publishing on a page-by-page basis.

Enable Publishing on Pages

To enable publishing on a page:

  1. Open the page in Cascade
  2. Click Edit
  3. In the page editor, click the Configure tab
  4. Check the box labeled Include when publishing
  5. Optionally check the box labeled Include when indexing to have this page display in sidebars and on the sitemap
  6. Click Preview Draft
  7. Click Submit

Disable Publishing on Pages

To disable publishing on a page:

  1. Open the page in Cascade
  2. Click Edit
  3. In the page editor, click the Configure tab
  4. Uncheck the box labeled Include when publishing
  5. Click Preview Draft
  6. Click Submit

Publishing Settings for Folders

You can optionally control publishing at the folder level, making sure all assets inside the folder can/cannot be published.

Enable Publishing for Folders

To enable publishing on a folder:

  1. Open the folder in Cascade
  2. Click Edit
  3. In the page editor, click the Properties tab
  4. Check the box labeled Include when publishing
  5. Optionally check the box labeled Include when indexing to have pages in this folder display in sidebars and on the sitemap
  6. Click Preview Draft
  7. Click Submit

  1. Open the folder in Cascade
  2. Click Edit
